Fantastic to see such an active thread about Flexi! I just want to point out a few things...
If you look only at the rate card, you're not getting the full picture. When you compare what you get with Qtel vs. what you get with Vodafone, you always get more across the entire range of plans. Up to 68% more!
With Flexi on Freedom, customers can use their plan for all of Vodafone's services -- you are not locked into a prescribed amount minutes or sms and if you want to make an international call, it's all included (unlike Shahry where you pay on top of your monthly fee). Plus, if you use more value than the Flexi plan you're on, we won't penalize you for talking or texting more. You simply get another Flexi added to your account and you enjoy the same rates and great bonus value. Unlike the competition where you are charged a higher rate. And, with Vodafone there's no peak or off-peak; no on-net or off-net. Our pricing is straight-forward and very transparent; no surprises or bill shock like you can get with the competition. Flexi is actually incredibly innovative.
Let's say a customer spends 110 QR per month on their mobile and uses their mobile *solely* for national calling.
With Vodafone the customer can get a Flexi 110 which includes 130 QR of value. If the customer uses all of this for national calling at a rate of 0.50 they get 260 minutes of calling. In addition they get 110 free Vodafone minutes making a grand total of 370 minutes with Vodafone.
With Qtel, the customer can buy 2 100 QR HALA cards and use 100% of one card and 10% of the second to make up the equivalent 110 QR spend. On HALA the customer would get 121 QR of value for their 110 QR spend. If the customer uses all of this for peak time, national calling at a rate of 0.55 QR, they get 220 minutes. This is one example as with Qtel you get charged different rates depending on what time of day it is and which network the person you are calling is on. With Vodafone it is one simple rate to call anyone nationally, any time of the day!
When you compare the 370 minutes with Vodafone to the 220 with Qtel, the customer gets up to 68% more talk time with Vodafone!
I've used HALA as the comparison as 86% of customers in Qatar are on HALA, as opposed to only 14% on Shahry. So wanted to show an example that would be the most common. If you compare Flexi against Shahry, you still get a whole lot more.
I encourage everyone to look at total value -- it's about what you get with Qtel vs. what you get with Vodafone. With Vodafone, you *always* get more!
