The Mid town has been the last hold out to the downtown developers for the past 25 years. I remember Gary Hearst (liquor dome fame) kept trying to buy the long time owner out but he refused to do so. I also remember being bawled out by waiters for moving a chair from one section to another.

You can't buy character (or characters) like the Midtown.
