Not only US, any country for that matter , their own inetersts will be the priority.

The whole international community kept quite when 1 million people got slaughterd in Rwanda. In the midst of the Genecide, UN even withdrew the few peace force they had deployed there prior to the riots. They came back later when the epidemics started to spread and to take the count of people died.
