The only reasons why pork is banned in some religions is that they can carry diseases transmissible through consumption to humans - like tuberculosis. This has been overcome (as with many other animal carried diseases) throught better care and modern medicines.
For those who believe they are dirty - do you eat eggs, chicken, beef? - all of which are prone to salmonella and e.coli (not to mention mad cow)both of which kill more people worldwide than anything pork might give you.
As an FYI - pigs, given a choice, will use a corner of their living quarters as a toilet and "live" in the clean side. The reason why they often look dirty is because they have no sweat glands and they roll in mud to keep cool - elephants also do this.
They eat camel meat and goats in the Gulf don't they? They're often tick infested which also carry diseases.
Look it up before you post nonsense (and get a reliable source, not some wingnut who has too much time on his hands but not two clues to rub together)
