for sharing this with us ... Port Forwarding is about opening ports through your firewall or router [which is most common in all houses]. The router got a built-in firewall depending on it's type, disable that first.
Second, you can do a single port forwarding or a range port forwarding depending on your torrent client.
If your torrent client can always use the same port when you start it, go for the single port forwarding.
If your torrent client is using a random port every time it starts, go for the range port forwarding.
Now it depends on your router, the port forwarding is simple. You'll need to give the name of the application used by this and let's say uTorrent, then provide the port you are using or the range. Finally choose the protocol that you want to enable port forwarding to and that would be TCP or UDP.
