A "TROLL" (in the internet sense of the word) is a person who posts blatantly disruptive, argumentative, and/or insulting comments just to insight anger or ruckus.
The word itself comes from the fishing term "troll", which means to cast out a fishing line and let it drag behind your boat hoping to snag a fish as you go. Well, in the online world, some people cast out a verbal incendiary fishing line, and hope to snag someone who take the bait and argue with them..
Many people in online communities will also juxtapose the fishing definition with the "magical beast" definition of the word troll, and comment that people should not "feed the trolls". In other words, don’t take the bait, and don’t react when they start causing trouble. Ignore them and don’t feed their anger and immaturity.
Unfortunately, it seems universally true that at least half of people who shout "don’t feed the trolls" are, in fact, trolling themselves.
