Found the papers from my first root canal. I was prescribed panadal (haha), Dolobid for pain, clindamycin as an antibiotic and methylprednisoleone for inflammation. I had absolutely no pain afterwards. the second rootcanal I had low level of pain for about 3 days (but it was less pain than the toothache!) yes I also understood nitrous oxide and IV sedation was not legal. It may have changed, however, as both Dr. Jeff and Dr. Aisha at Family Dental offered it to me last month as an option for the next time I brought my children in. Call them at 466-6227 and find out if this is true. Good luck
