cba - I don't think you realise what a strategic bonus it is having the US based in Qatar. Qatar has invited the US into 'it's business'.

cbd - This sort of thing happens all over the world with many different strategic alliances between countries. It certainly isn't something specific to the way the US does things. And there's absolutely no suggestion of war or sanctions.
