Doha to Abu Samra (doha's border check point) is beautiful road which should take about one hour and 30 minutes from the edge of doha(depends on your speed).
after 3 kilometres from passing abu samra, you will enter Salwa ( Saudi border check point)...
1 kilometre or so after exiting Salwa, you will see a round about (be very careful, road is dangerous once you get in Saudi)
from the Round about, you need to be vigilant because you need to take left for Emirates.
from this roundabout, it takes 1 hour & 30 minutes to reach al-bat-ha (Saudi border check point) (120 Kms). This road is dangerous too because it is one road combined for dual ways.
after this you will reach Al-guwayfat (UAE border check point) after which roads are beautiful again! foolow the signs until you get to Abu Dhabi.
Whole journey should last about 8 hours.
- border check points are open 24 hours.
- you need to pay insurance at the Saudi border (70 riyals for a week or a hundred riyals for two weeks)
- you need to pay insurance at the UAE border (i believe it is about 100 Riyals or so for a week).
