Yes, it's entirely up to the individual to decide whether to eat pork or not, and if you choose not to because you're religion forbids it then good for you.

But can't you accept that things have changed a lot since your religion said those things? People are now aware of how to cook meat properly.

I'm not trying to convince you to eat pork, I just don't understand you can be blind to the fact that it's perfectly safe to eat.
