Let's agree not to turn some pigs slaughtering to a congested religious warfare between Egyptians!
Egypt has launched a Pigs Eradication Program as an extreme precautionary measure. We've been hit hard by birds' flu and experts say the combination of that flu (remnants) with the swine's may create a new strain.
What most of you have no clue about, is that in many parts of Cairo, most people, in the pigs business, work or actually do live with pigs, with intense daily exposure, those're the ones at a very high risk of catching swine flu if the latter carries the strain infecting humans.
Egyptian gov. arranged for an indemnity plan, it will pay US$200 for each slaughtered pig to help herd owners in this crisis.
I'd like to also add, specially to QLers who love making up stories, that pigs trading in Egypt is not monopolized by Coptic families/businessmen, there're Muslim families trading in pigs and Alcohol too.
