The problem is you have this diffuse, wooly kind of hatred, of the US which has been created with regards to US.
People seem to forget that Iran and Iraq were at war for years, so all this "everything was perfect before amerika come' is just fantasy.
But also succesive republican and liberal govs have approved the 9 billion dollars in military aid that isreal receives. Which bursts the whole ballon about it being 'all that Bush's' fault. So when some kid's legs been blown off by a bomb that says 'made in USA' kinda stokes emotion.
But, then just as bad you have Hamas using human shields, and continuing to fire missiles with no attempt at peace.
Yes it was the brits fault at the time for giving them the land, as was an even bitter pill as they repayed us with terrorism (which gets swept under the carpet).
