shelly - you're right in saying that the cats at QAWS are being fed and cared for, but QAWS is running at full capacity so can't take in any more cats. This means there are lots of strays who have to be left to fend for themselves. If you adopt from QAWS not only will you get a cat who has been properly treated and vaccinated, but you will also be freeing up space for them to take in new cats.
