Has nobody noticed the exact parallel between the suggestion that Obama should silence Fox to protect America's image and the Qatari/Arab obsession with the media not exposing things that are shameful for their country?
The answer to all our problems - from Fox to Al Qaeda - is education. Educate populations so that people don't live in a little bubble defined geographically by the Bible Belt or the limits of the Tora Bora mountains and intellectually by some mediaeval book, and the world would improve no end.
That's where Bush was so stupid. He thought democracy solved things and it doesn't. Education does. But Bush lives in his own bubbleful of misconceptions, too, so he couldn't see that.
