I have read your response and couldn't agree more with most on the points you made. Its is a matter of education and yes I have dealt with and deal with many proffessional men on a daily basis. I am myself a proffessional in the Energy business. All the men whom i work with are respectful, kind, considerate and dignified and they are of all nationalities including Qatar.
I feel bad that my comments were taken so badly when my only intention was to enlighten Beela to the social do and don'ts here to make sure that she didn't put herself in any questionable situations.
Yes, the west has some lessons that it could take from the middle east. The society in the America's and Europe have become demoralized and socially corrupt. I cant argue with that. But to say there is no crime or homosexuality here is not quite true, in fact I suspect homosexuality is as prevalent here because of the restrictions on male female interaction. Its only hidden because its illegal.
As for crime I do have one questions for you. I have noticed as have many others that there is very little crime reported in the Gulf Times or the Pennisula, but I hear, and correct me if I am wrong, that in the Arabic version of same its all there. Is this true? Why the black out in English paper then if so. We all know that Qatar is not crime free, not society is without it.
I have enjoyed your responses to my questions and I truly appreciate your insight into Arab culture. I hope to learn more about it as time passes for me here in the Gulf.
