I was not being negative about the event - far from it - if every other child brought one spectator then one would see a crowd of 600; look at photos 1 & 3 that show the paltry crowd comprised of other competitors and officials.
I was making the point that the event and the children deserve the support of their parents.
What hope for international events when the competitors own families can't be bothered to turn up?
