"Short-tempered people look for the same high standards and perfectionism in others as well as in themselves. "
- True for high stds but not perfection in self or others. No such thing.
"For this kind of person, it is important to realize the true nature of humankind; they need to understand that they themselves are not perfect. "
- I know I'm not perfect but my standards remain high. To give this excuse is a justification for laziness. There must be a balance. I used to work in a offshore financial services centre for 4 years wherein the financial professionals were super efficient and fast and damn irritated at the slowness of the rest of the town - which generally had a slow, island mentality. There are pros and cons to every situation. Island mentality is good for quality of life but efficiency is also good for quality of life in another way. The balance is where one should seek to achieve.
"If they are incapable of realizing this, they will be given opportunities to allow them to come to this conclusion as a result of external events. Something is sure to happen to wound their pride."
- As long as there is a balance, must work hard and smart. Otherwise, this is a weak attempt to argue a point to justify laziness. Life is about justifications. As I said before, a balance needs to be struck. The problem with many is that they are lazy and look for ways to justify why they cannot deliver on something.
"Perfectionists dream of doing things perfectly, and often they have succumbed to the illusion that they themselves are indeed perfect."
- There is a difference between having high standards and being perfectionist. NO ONE is perfect. Everybody learns continuously.
"In other words, they are people who aim for things that it is beyond their ability to attain."
- This statement is a weak justification for not stretching oneself and continuing to sit on their ar**s. If something is beyond one's ability to attain, it doesn't mean that they can NEVER attain it. Do something about one's lack of skills or experience so that in future, one will have that ability to attain what was previously "impossible". Nothing is impossible if one puts their mind to it.
"The higher they reach, the more pain they will feel when they fall.
- Justification for sitting on ar**s.
"When something occurs to teach them that they are not perfect, the shock affects them deeply."
- Only applicable for granite heads who have huge egos - prideful and inflexible, not adaptable, unwilling to change and who always think they are right, not open to constructive criticism.
"How you rate ur self??"
Not perfect but high standards.
