When you buy a replacement power adaptor, please make sure that the output rating is 12V and minimum 1.5A (i.e. equal to or more than 18W).

The original Tata Sky power adaptor has a rating of 12V 1.5A.

If you use any thing of lower wattage adaptor will overheat and will eventually die if it does not have autoshut off (in which case may keep turning on and off)
