gregbais, congratulations!

Good encouragement to Asians but not so good for the Westerners and those who have lost their jobs and have huge car loans and house mortgages to pay. It's no joke - very trying times. Unfortunate fact of life, a company's bottom line is the decision maker.

Where there is a large gap in earnings, things have a way of finding its way back to equilibrium.

Those who have had it good all this while, have to tighten their belts and be more frugal. Those who are from developed countries have a quality of life that is much higher than most of the world. Unfortunately, it's time to scale down. God help them. gregbais, you and I don't have much problem with that because we lived with little and we now have more. If we lost it, we can still live with little.

The ones who have been frugal due to circumstances, it's their time to enjoy life and while this thread is good as a reminder to encourage some people, be mindful that there are others who are in turmoil.

Always remember that the only thing constant in life is change. You may be rich one day but poor another day. In all things, learn to be content in whichever station in life, adaptable and be flexible to weather any storm.
