As a parent that has just been through the 'interview' with my son at DC, I can only praise the caring professional way that it was handled. 'Interview' is perhaps a strong/wrong word to use to describe the procedure.

On arrival we were spoken to as a group by the headteacher who clearly explained what was going to happen. The children were invited to play in the class, which was a Preschool class, set up appropriatly for a freeplay. My son was more than happy to play with the cars and garage on the mat. The other 7 or 8 children that were there also seemed content to be left in the care of the Preschool teachers. The children were not taken from us by strangers.

We then went to have tea and coffee and an informal chat with the Head whilst the children played and were informally assessed by the Staff.

I cannot believe what I am reading on this thread.....it doesnt sound at all like the 'interview' my son and I had. I wish more parents would speak up who have gone through the procedure of entering DC at Preschool.
