Ok.. I just thought of this ... yeah, some of you guys probably already did but I didn't have time to think about it...
Anyway - what if the bidder is just doing this for the sake of free publicity? And he has no intention of paying up? He would already be well known, out of obscurity, for dubious reasons but... Anything that's shocking, surprising, etc. usually sticks in people's minds, way after any particular event or issue is over. And he isn't intending to pay up. Probably call it off at the last minute and turn the tables on boob girl. She'll be the laughing stock. He's now the laughing stock - for being dumb enough to say he'll pay that much but ... I think she's gonna be trumped.
His justification would be, "Hell yeah.. I thought I'd get a bit of free publicity for this.
You don't think I'm that stupid to pay that much for this esp when there's a financial crisis and when I can find other, cheaper ways. Since she's creating such a name for herself, why not jump on to the bandwagon? After all, she put herself online and "invited" the world "to treat". I may have offered but as long as I don't accept the "goods", there is no consideration exchanged and therefore, no proper contract. There are other issues,of course... but even if she claims damages, how much is she going to get anyway? Very difficult to prove entitlement and quantum" Etc.etc. Lawyers and everybody else are gonna have a field day. Loads of other arguments to get off scot free. I can guess where this is actually going but.. well, I could be wrong.
so.. who.am.i, do let us know how this turns out. Whether he actually paid up. We'd like to know if this is a high profile scam and what the parties are gonna come up with to justify their actions. Whether they both achieved the free publicity they craved, etc.
I'd say the record holder at under 10k gave this little girl ideas on a get rich quick scheme .. but she has a lot of growing up to do, if she really believes that she can go down the road of the under 10k kid... IMHO only. 2.6mil is merely to grab attention. Creativity and innovation at work here.
