Wolfie, the cartoons think it's cool and perhaps it does impress certain girls - like maybe the Japanese youngsters.

Btw, I think we all know - some good looking guys and gals have an edge over the other guys and gals, so they rest and become lazy, not bothered to build up their character, etc. and end up being shallow. The not so good looking ones are disadvantaged and thus, they work on their characters, gain knowledge, etc. to become attractive.

Bottom line - winning the competition.

Reality - good lookers win the competition only in the short term. The ones with substance to their characters win the competition in the long run.
