First of all, it's very sad to see our brothers and sisters being killed.
Initially, I thought that UkEngQatar was right in that the attacks are politically motivated for next month's elections. But looking at the events unfolding, it's not true. ummjake - very well said.

I doubt it. It's not that shallow an intention. They are protecting their people. During the ceasefire, BOTH sides were preparing to defend themselves. Israel happened to be better prepared. They are also not targeting civilians - warning them and giving time to evacuate, etc.
Why are people blind to that fact that Hamas uses civilians as shields and to put pressure on the rest of the world to accede to their demands? All in the name of THEIR own interpretation of God's wishes. I wish they would walk the path of peace and tolerance while maintaining the sanctity of Islam as Qatar has shown.
/I'm not saying this because I need to work here. I have other options but I chose to be here for the learning experience esp. a different perspective of Islam.
