Jasmine I hear you on the embassy assistance issue, but if you will check with your embassy they will promptly tell you that they do not get involved with legal cases, especially domestic. The consensus is, if you decide to marry another nationality outside of your own country you should be aware of the 'risks' involved. Also, if it is a dispute where you are deemed in breach of the law of the country you are in (not where you are from) the embassy may possibly advise you of a local lawyer but thats it.
