Single, white female - less problem than Asian females. You get to cut queue in many places, eg. like the immigration dept when I was lining up in a long queue for the health checks for my residence permit.

I didn't know anyone at all in Qatar when I landed here. In fact, I never even heard of Qatar till 2 months before I came and didn't have any time to do any research cos too busy working and studying till end July. You could call it a giant leap of faith.

Be reasonably alert and you'll be fine. No need to be hesitant. Very nice people here, family oriented, very decent, helpful, etc. (I'm referring to the ones I've met and gotten to know and some of the regular posters, not referring to the online lurkers whose intentions are suspect).

"Anything I should keep in mind when considering the offer?" Maybe search this site for other practical info, and ask the seniors / regular posters specific questions if you need to. Cost of living is the major concern you should address in your offer. Accommodation being the main budget buster, transport and food. If you love clubbing, then there are a few places but they are limited.
