Definitely advertise in the Gulf Times, I did that and got LOTs of calls! You need to be prepared to filter them and have pen and paper handy at all times )) Some of them will call and hang up expecting you to call them back for cost reasons... A lot will have very poor English - don't bother taking their contact details. There are some decent ones though. You need to check their visa/sponsorship status of course. Ask them to bring their papers for an interview. I would say I shortlisted about 7 ladies out of may be 50 calls or so. I ended up finding my nanny in our compound's playground though )) word of mouth is still the best way in many cases. Good luck!
