The verse quoted should be studied in depth my dear. As it is said that Islam treats men & women equally, I would like to elaborate that female is given a share from her father's property + a share from her husband's property so:
Male = 2 shares
Female = 2 share (1 father + 1 husband)
Fingerpointing at something misunderstood is very easy but getting them corrected or explained properly is a task :)
