Hmmmm, Arabs? Please read about world history, you'll find out that before Europeans, Africa had several countries that were part of the big Arab Empire, around the 8th century d.c.

I do belive that it happens due to missinterpretation of the Qur'an.
In the time of Mohamed (PBUH) it could be normal to marry at 9 or 12 but that's only because on that time life expectancy would be around 35/40 years, nowadays it's updating some parts of the Shariah. But i do agree that's a cultural matter and not religious, in Europe, some centuries ago, it would happen just the same.
Now, i go out, hope that people keep a peacefull and constructive debate concerning this matters, like someone said: If you can't hold the fire, than you better leave the kitchen.
