Briefly, in Christianity it was Eve eating the apple that brought about the original sin. I cant imagine that the sin of mankind in on women and we birth children who are born with sin. Giving birth is to be a womans punishment also.
In Islam, all children are born pure, and childbirth is not punishment for women but rather our gateway into heaven. Women are greatly commended in Islam, and heaven is at the feet of a mother.
From my knowledge Adam and Eve were equals, and both could be equally tempted. The Quran says that Satan tempted them both and they both ate from the tree but they paid their own justice, and were accountable alone.
