your best bet is to have 3 moving companies come to your place to quote you and explain their services. that's what we did (Toronto to Egypt). there will be similarities, and each with have a few differences.

in our first move, and then the one from Egypt to Qatar, things were damaged. nothing too major, but in both cases the insurance claim process was fairly painless.

my advice is don't necessarily go for the cheapest, unless they also seem to offer the best service, and make sure you put in replacement values in the insurance forms because if something important is damaged you will need to replace it in Qatar.
