Safety is relative - ask yourself this, are you scared to walk around in the streets here alone? If not then I don't see why u should be scared to walk in the streets there...Harassment occurs here too btw (I;ve been subjected to it here, and that's not becuase I dress disrespectfully to the culture - i've had catwhistles and many comments made....)
So yeah it just depends - if you're confident about urself there should be no problems.
