Unfortunalty the realty here rahsoft can seem like an alternate universe but it is what it is. Amounst friends we joke that Qatar is like the Matrix, but in all actuality it can feel like that sometimes.
Qatar is governed by Sharia law as it is an Islamic country, much like the rest of the GCC but there are some civil laws here as well. While they are trying their darndest to keep both in harmony no governmental system is one pure sect. The west for example is a democracy, but it is not only that, it is a capitalist democracy.
"Muslim" literally means "one who surrenders to God". I dont want a religious rant here but just to clear it up (I promise I wont cut and paste ;)) that The Prophet (PBUH) said all children are born muslim, it is the parent who make him Jew, Christian..." This is a recognition of other religions and recognition that all people do not stay muslim, hence not making nice to nice's comment redundant.
You know if we could discuss things like this all the time I think there wouldnt be so much conflict.... I rather like this.... civilized :) Thanks rahsoft
