Dear Khanan, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan wasnt a controversial figure, what exactly happend at the time muslim dominent areas are running of persian based education having thier degrees recognized as fazil, munshi fazil etc.. and british were implementing english as official language while hindus and christians were studying english and were having good exposure on government job the ratio of en employment in muslim youth was increasing each day. To curb this Sir Syed tried his best to create awareness on learning english to muslim youth but his endeavours were criticsed by some of the scholars who believed that by doing so muslim youth will stray from thier heritage, famous poet Akbar Allahbadi was also one of the peoples opposing english education. In fact he was the man to rescued muslim society from being isolated.
