I-moody, it is a common misbelief that the Council of Nicaea codified the canon of scripture for the Christian Church. The Council of Nicaea in fact dealt with the understanding of the divinity of Christ. The 27 books of what we call the New Testament were widely accepted from the middle of the second century and were formally agreed on at the Council of Hippo. Minor point, but I believe it may have been promulgated by Dan Brown, a notoriously bad ecclesiastical historian.
