If the lower wage workers are looking for cheaper foodstuff, try the wholesale markets. We go there occasionally and the produce is sometimes fresher than the supermarket... and considerably cheaper. I bought a box of tomatoes for 8 QR, 6 dole pineapples for like 20QR. There are definate savings. For dry goods try the Al Meera (formerly Co-Op). Their prices are usually 1-3 QR less than major supermarkets.
