Why is it inappropriate to talk about something if it's true?

I'm not blaming every single instance of dangerous driving on religion (indeed, they probably make up the minority) and I'm sure what you say about cultural issues and pride are true, but that thread was not the only time I've heard people defend dangerous driving by saying it doesn't make any difference.
