I must admit that John is not aware of this blog and exposure and therefore, cannot defend his actions, and of course, we (his family and others) certainly don't have the whole story, only John's side of it, but I needed some input and opinions of persons from qatar, understanding that blogs, although useful, are somewhat distorted perceptions. I am able to defend my brother easily because he has spent 50 years being a good, decent man--devoted to his family and especially, his three children. These children have been blessed with and have thrived on their father's love, and the few minutes each month that we spend on the phone with John, his only plea is that we take care of his kids--not to worry about him but to help his children.
