qatarisun - malls are more than just shops. They're specifically designed to be a destination where people want to hang out, somewhere with restaurants, cinemas, ice-rinks, etc and so on, as well as shops.

But I agree, if someone thinks a shopping mall is the best place in Qatar they really need to get out more!
