Kerala is pretty much coastal throughout the state so I dont think there will be a shortage of beaches just that you may not have good places to stay nearby. Anyway places you should not miss
1. Kumarakom
2. Munnar
3. Wayanad
4. Kovalam beach
5. Varkala beach- kinda unexplored but i think getting popular now(this is way south so that'll be abt 10-12 hrs travel from Calicut)
Towards the north there are some good beaches near Kannur and then there's Bekal fort in Kasaragod which is beautiful after the rains. You could got to Mangalore which has some good beaches as well but that is again far away and another state.
If you wanna see Art and Culture dont forget to visit Kalamandalam in Thrissur
I dream of a better tomorrow where Chickens can cross the Road without having their motives questioned - Unknown
