Until this point is accepted, it's rather a pointless discussion from my point of view, surely we're not talking about reinventing the wheel for Qatar specifically....,or are we??!!

Don't be fooled that traffic volume here are particularly high, for a city it's not.

My home town in the UK has higher traffic volume & flow rates, due to more vehicles. It also has more R/A's.

The only times there are usually accidents on R/A's is down to reckless driving, drink driving, excessive speed, weather (snow/ice/floods/heavy rain - acts of God)& of course arrogance & plain stupidity......, so we do have some similarities on the roads then......!!! ;-)

What can work very well with some R/A's is to install traffic lights that control flow at peak times, as in other countries & also installed in quite a few in Doha.
