It is true that different universities excel at different things.. Harvard is ranked high for its business school , law and even medicine.. CalTech and MIT are ranked higher for sciences.. Yale and Berkeley also have high marks for social sciences etc..

However, the fact remains, that graduating from an ivy league university, no matter what your subject gives you a higher standing amongst employers.

Lastly, university is not just about getting a degree. It's about learning, experiences, making friends etc...
