What winds me up is this PC brigade which seems to have sprouted up in the last few years, who seem to care more for the criminals than the victims..

IMHO, prisons should be harsh so as to act as a deterrent. I recall reading an article a few months back, weher a lag actually wanted to go back to prison, because he found life outside too tough to handle>...
