Just a word of caution. Gambling is illegal in Qatar. Not that private poker games don't occur but I would be hesitant about promoting it or even discussing it in a public forum. When I first arrived here about a year ago there was a blip in the local paper about a group of guys who were arrested for gambling. If memory serves me right, they work caught in one of the worker camps playng cards and "gambling" with personal items not money. I'm just passing this on in hopes that you will exercise caution about who you invite and how you initiate your game. I have said it before, from a Western perspective, the punishment in Qatar does not always suit the crime.
