Because of the area, there is a lot of transient people all seeking similar things, ie jobs, opportunities etc, investment. I just remain very cautious with the emails I receive, if they have a link don't open straight away, especially if the email is from an unknown source, it may contain a "trojan" virus. Secondly when you think you may have been the target of someone scam, ignore the first invitation etc, ie if it sounds too good or dodgy. If they're genuine the thought is that they'll resend the offer, however if you must reply, simply ask some further questions ie if it is a job offer, ask about when and where they will pay you. (don't volunteer information), simply play along, sooner or later they're going to make some unfeasible demand in order to "CON" you, if may be they'll ask for the account details of your bank to set you up on the payroll, or they'll ask for you to pay a fee to administer the visa requirement.. don't fall for either as if the offers sound dodgy they probably are. If exposing a Con, don't threaten anything, simply advise them that you're aware that it is a con, and you'll be barring them from sending email traffic to your email address. They will continue of course 'the Scams" you must remain vigilant and don't offer any opening.
