Princesa, I find it hard to believe that they would not allow you to stay for longer than 8 hours in the airport. The reason I'm saying this is two fold. First because my husband will have a 12 hour stop over in Doha (coming from India) in a few days. Second because last year I had a 22 hour stop over in Dubai without a visa. The only problem is that you have to stay inside the airport for that amount of time, you may not leave the area because you cannot get a visa at entry. Check with your travel agent properly because it really doesn't make sense that you cannot stay for more than 8 hours in transit here.
