Once you go to the police traffic/investigation dept at Madina Khalifa (accident/investigation dept is next to the old traffic dept, separated by that huge parking lot), if it isn't your fault, the police will just require your license.
You'll get two papers from the police, you'll need to put revenue stamps on both of them (5 QR face value, the guy who makes tea in that office sells it for QR 6 each).
You'll need to get the paper rubber stamped from the radar section .. i.e. no traffic fines.
Then you'll need to go and get another rubber stamp and signature, both by the same person on both those papers.
If you don't know to read arabic, as someone that knows how to, and get them to read the name of the other person's insurance company that is typed on the paper that the police has given you.
Goto the insurance company, goto the motor claims division, show the police papers .. someone will usually go and take a picture of the car, and then they ask if you want cash or repair .. best is to opt for repair ..
They give you the address of the workshop/garage .. It is highly likely that it'll be located in the industrial area.
So if you are planning on leaving your car to be repaired , better ask a friend to drive along in his/her car, as you'll need it on your way back ... really difficult to get taxis from there ..
