I guess you picked the worst country to for a "long drive at high speed."

I mean get real. Where are the highways? and how safe are they for normal speeds anyway?

If I were you, I would speed in Germany on the Autobahn (have done it many times, safely). The distances are longer too. The scenery is definitely better than Qatar.
