Yes, it is seen as unfair by the women for various reasons. One example is schooling. In the new independent school system place priority goes to Qatari children. Often children of Qatari Mothers and non-Qatari Fathers cannot get a place in these schools as their children are not Qatari and end up keeping their children in the old government schools.
In this case the Qatarias want the same rights for their children as the Qatari men have. I think they'll get it :)
