QL is just protecting itself from a backlash if a users photo is posted without their permission. It makes sense to me.
Some people are very naive when it comes to internet security. It's ridiculously easy to find out a lot of information about some people, and unfortunately some people use this in a bad way.
From a photo it's not many steps to finding a persons real name, and there a many reasons why a QL user wouldn't want their real name revealed.
And there are so many other methods of sharing photos with people on the internet, so it's hardly a showstopper not being able to put them on QL.
