Yes a new passport will be issued.
I recently issued my wifes passport.
But since it was fresh passport, they never asked for any marriage certificate.
But in your case thay might ask for marriage certificate attested by Ministry of External affairs in Delhi otherwise any body can bring somebody as wife... to fool the authorities here. Please confirm the second part.
